[Travel] The Vasa Museum, Stockholm

This Sunday I visited the Vasa Museum, Stockholm.

According to the museum official website:

The Vasa is the world’s only surviving 17th-century ship.

According to Vasa ship’s Wikipedia entry:

Vasa (or Wasa) is a warship that was built for Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden from 1626 to 1628. The ship foundered and sank after sailing less than a nautical mile (2 km) into her maiden voyage on August 10, 1628. The ship is one of Sweden’s most popular tourist attractions and, as of 2007, has attracted more than 25 million visitors.

I visited the Absolut Icebar in Stockholm tonight. According to the Icebar’s official website:

Experience Stockholm’s coolest bar – the ABSOLUT ICEBAR STOCKHOLM at the Nordic Sea Hotel! Here in the world’s first permanent ice bar, the temperature is -5°C all year round, and the entire interior – including the glasses – is made from 100% pure, clear ice from the Torne River in Swedish Lapland.

[Travel] Stockholm Metro stations

Now I am living in a hotel in Stockholm’s Central Station/T-Centralen area, and I take metro line every morning to go to office in Kista.

I took some photos of Stockholm Metro stations (just along the blue line T11) today after I get off from the office.

[Travel] The Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden

I visited the Royal Palace (Official webpage in English and Chinese) in Stockholm, Sweden this Saturday. According to the Wikipedia entry:

The Stockholm Palace (Swedish: Stockholms slott) is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch.

Actually I did not get into the Royal Apartments, because it is closed now and will continue to be closed until April 26. Fortunately the ticket is valid until May 11, so if I am still in Stockhom on April 26, I can go to visit the Royal Apartments at that time. I visited the Tre Kronor Museum, a museum dedicated to the original Tre Kronor Palace in Stockholm, which was destroyed in a violent fire in 1697. I also visited Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities, one of Europe’s oldest museums, which first opened its doors in 1794. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed in the Tre Kronor Museum and Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities, so I have not taken any photo in these two places.

But there are some more photos below… and you can see how the Royal Palace looks like…
