You might already know Jan. 26, 2009 is Chinese New Year (Spring Festival). I stays in Shanghai for this new year holiday. Tonight (Jan.25) is the Chinese New Year Eve. I and a few of my friends decided to burn fireworks by ourselves to celebrate the new year. Burning fireworks is really a Chinese traditional practice during Spring Festival holiday.

According to Chinese Zodiac, the new year is Ox Year. “Ox” in Chinese (primarily in colloquial style Chinese) also has an interesting meaning of “powerful, wonderful”. 🙂
